The WBCS Harvesting Partnerships Educational Symposium is a time for learning, networking and recognizing the recipients of the Lille Knox Investing for Growth Award. This award upholds Lillie Knox’ legacy to invest in women-own businesses. The recipients of the award identified a critical need in their businesses that if met, could lead to increased growth and development. Since the program’s inception in 2005, WBCS has awarded over $189,000 to WBE award winners.

This year, nine WBEs were awarded funds of up to $5,000 each in Lillie’s memory. The recipients were Aztec Promotional Group, Best Receivables Management, Bridge Work Partners, Bullseye Database Marketing, Guaranteed Express, HG Litigation, Integrated Human Capital, Paperclip Promotions and Urban Intimates Lingerie. These companies reflect the diverse business community that makes up the WBCS membership. There were winners from Austin, Dallas, El Paso, and Tulsa. Industries included promotional products, outsourced client billing, litigation, delivery, staffing, marketing, HR consulting and even lingerie sales.

Aztec Promotional Group and Guaranteed Express plan to utilize the award funds to purchase vehicles in order better meet client’s delivery demands and free up staff resources. Bullseye Database Marketing , Integrated Human Capital, Paperclip Promotions and Urban Intimates intent to revamp their online presence. This includes new marketing strategies, sleek website designs and user-friendly mobile services. BrideWork Partners and Best Receivables Management will be purchasing software to increase efficiency and to cut costs. BridgeWork Partners will be implementing a sophisticated application tracking system as part of their of their multi-phased plan. Best Receivables Management will be purchasing postal automation software to prevent returned mail and reduce waste. HG Litigation will be acquiring  the equipment necessary to use PIP (picture in picture) technology. This technology allows clients to introduce electronic evidence during legal meetings.
