Women's Business Council - Southwest

Rachel Sanchez Named 2015 WBE Star

The 2015 WBENC Summit and Salute event was held last week in Baltimore, Maryland. This lively three day conference featured a variety of workshops, networking receptions, committee meetings, panel discussions and more. In addition, there were plenty of opportunities for one-on-one meetings between Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) and Sustaining (Corporate) Members during meet & greet and matchmaking sessions.

The last evening of the conference was reserved for the glamorous Salute awards dinner where fourteen exemplary women, one from each RPO, received the nation's premier award for excellence among Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs) bestowed by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). In addition, select corporations that provide WBEs with growth opportunities in today’s competitive marketplace received top honors.

Representing the Women's Business Council - Southwest was Rachel Sanchez, Chief Executive Officer at Prestige Maintenance USA, Ltd. (PMUSA). PMUSA launched their supplier-diversity initiative in 2012. In 2013, PMUSA surpassed their spend goals with W/MBE, and in 2014, PMUSA expects to achieve their company goal once again by continuing to work with strong diverse suppliers, as well as develop partnerships with other diverse businesses. Most recently, PMUSA was the proud recipient of the 2014 WBCS award for WBE of the Year for companies earning more than $5 million in revenue, and Rachel currently serves on the host committee for the 2015 WBENC National Conference and Business Fair. She is an inspiration to other women business owners across the nation.

Congratulations, Rachel!
