Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) is seeking companies ($1M - $80M) to participate in the Inner City Capital Connection. Please submit your nominations using the nominations template and nomination form by September 19th .

The Inner City Capital Connections program (ICCC) program begins with an executive education seminar led by experienced practitioners and professors from top graduate business schools. The interactive curriculum will focus on entrepreneurial finance and raising capital, debt and equity finance, components of an investor pitch, strategy, and talent management. The seminar will feature panel discussions with capital providers who will discuss what they look for when making investments in businesses. After the seminar, participants will continue perfecting their investor pitches through a coaching sessionwebinar.

The ICCC program culminates with the ICCC Conference at Fortune Magazine in New York City on November 19 - 20, 2014, where participants will have the opportunity to put their learning into action, market their company, and network with peers and capital providers. All events are free of charge.

 Below is a sample of the impact that the program has had since 2005:

·             - More than $1.07 billion in capital has been raised by the 690 participating companies.

·             - 4,977 jobs have been created by participating firms, with an average of 7 jobs per firm.

·             - The median deal reached by participating companies who reported raising capital was $700,000 and average deal was $4.2 million.

·             - Prior to ICCC, one-third of companies reported their understanding of pitching their businesses to capital providers as excellent or good. This grew to 92% after ICCC.

·             - The average firm made 3 business referrals as a result of participating in ICCC.

·             - Participants have been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Inc. Magazine, Portfolio, PE Hub, MSN Money and Small Business Television.
