August Table Topics Luncheon
"Getting Your Point Across" Presented by Susan Stageman, M.A. is a Master NLP Practitioner and Certified Trainer through the Society of Neuro-linguistic Programming
Most people think that what we say is important. The most elegant communicators know that it is not only what we say that is important but how we say what we say as well. Being an articulate communicator doesn't necessarily make a good one. Items to be discussed:
*What are the elements of effective communication?
*Know how to determine an achievable outcome
*Observe the other person without interpretation
*Sincerely align with someone to build deep trust and rapport
*Know how another person is thinking
*Sloppy thinking leads to sloppy communication
*Ask precise questions to get missing information
*What is the best internal state to have when having conversation
*Can you patiently listen to ideas even when you do not agree?
