Message from Debbie Hurst, WBCS President & CEO:

At WBCS, in-person networking is essential to the work we do and to each of your businesses, but we are also committed to taking every precaution to protect your health. With the recent recommendations from the CDC concerning coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the decision to postpone or alter our events over the next 8 weeks. In addition, our March 26th Fort Worth Happy Hour has been cancelled.

This will effect Table Topics on both April 7th and May 12th as well as Connections to Contracts on April 14th.

For our Table Topics series, we are looking into ways to bring you the same great speakers in a virtual setting. Please stay tuned for more information about that in the coming weeks.

For Connections to Contracts, we are committed to having this procurement event later in 2020 and will promptly notify you when we have a new date. If you are already registered, we have the following three options for you:

  1. You can carry your current registration over to the rescheduled date
  2. You can request a full refund by contacting Elizabeth Garner, [email protected]
  3. You can donate your registration cost to the Council

Additionally, since Connections to Contracts has been postponed, you still have more time to submit your 2019 WBE Spend and we are extending the deadline to preorder our commemorative 25th anniversary t-shirts.

In the meantime, I want you to know that WBCS is still open for business. All staff are available to answer your questions over email or on the phone and certification applications are continuing to be processed. This is a great time to work on your certification or recertification and all site visits are being conducted virtually for the time being.

During this uncertain time, I want you to know that we are all in this together. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns. Thank you for your ongoing support of WBCS and its mission.

Debbie Hurst
