These two companies met in 2007 and since then, Darla Beggs and Sou Lam have since maintained a great rapport. "Darla is a strong leader and a great mentor. Over the last few years, she would make wonderful suggestions and comments that were always insightful to me," says Lam.
In 2011, at a pre-bid meeting, Lam suggested that Ad-A-Staff support and partner with Abba, if an impending bid was awarded. Towards the end of 2011, Darla received news that her firm was to be the incumbent for the bed and the two WBEs proceeded with the agreement to work together as partners, not competitors with the contract. "We have continued to have a phenomenal working relationship between our two companies," adds Lam.
