Austin Insights was held on Thursday, July 30 and was a great success! We had more than 60 people sign-on and attend our virtual twist on this annual Austin event. The event started off with 2 rounds of breakout rooms where many connections and conversations were made and was followed by presentations from CapMetro and Waterloo Greenway!

Capital Metro | Project Connect

Light Rail Rendering

CapMetro’s CEO, Randy Clarke, and Community Involvement Manager, Jackie Nirenberg, presented on their upcoming Project Connect. The Project promises to change the way Austinites get around the city. Project Connect is set to be on the November ballots and will propose a new light rail, underground tunnel transit system, expanded commuter rails, additional zero-emission bus routes, and more. Project Connect also will offer opportunities to small and women-owned businesses to be a part of making history in the Capital City! Waterloo Greenway Conservancy | Phase 1
Park Rendering

Waterloo Greenway followed CapMetro with an equally exciting presentation that updated us on the status of Phase 1 in their endeavor to change Downtown Austin. CEO, Peter Mullan, shared images of this groundbreaking park’s progress as construction has transformed an empty lot into a beautiful park. Waterloo Greenway will bring a shared outdoor experience to Austin and will include a food truck lane, wide open spaces for picnics, playgrounds, and community events, as well as the Moody Amphitheater which will host LIVE music! This project also plans to bring opportunities for small and women-owned businesses.
