This Women's History Month, our Corporate Member The Container Store, is celebrating by bringing awareness to the bias that women experience that make it difficult to advance. The #BreaktheBias campaign is the 2022 theme for International Women's Day which strives to bring awareness for a gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

One way that The Container Store is working to break the bias, is through their newly launched supplier diversity program.  "Our commitment to #BreakTheBias goes beyond our employees and extends into the communities where we operate and to the suppliers that we partner with. Last month, we announced our new Supplier Diversity program and partnerships with the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). By engaging with advocacy groups like these, we are enhancing our efforts to provide equitable opportunities for small and diverse owned businesses to connect and do business with us," said LaTisha Brandon, Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at The Container Store.

Additionally, The Container Store is asking all customers to make a donation to the WBCS Lillie Knox Fund, which is a cash prize of up to $20,000, exclusively available to WBCS Women's Business Enterprises, to help further business growth.
