2017 Woman Entrepreneur's Exchange

Women business owners in the Austin region gathered at the offices of sustaining member, VMware, for the Women's Business Council-Southwest's first Woman Entrepreneur's Exchange. The afternoon kicked off with remarks from Pamela Bryant, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Hanger, Inc., on how WBEs can get involved with their supplier diversity department and featured a keynote by WBCS member and CEO of Charlie Bravo Aviation, René Banglesdorf.

René Speaking

René's presentation, "4 Ways Women Can Rise Above the Status Quo", focused on steps women can take in order to crush mediocrity in their businesses and personal lives. René is especially qualified to share her wisdom on this topic. She rose to the challenge of leading her company in a male-dominated industry and grew it into one of the top aircraft brokerage firms in the world. René discussed in depth the following tips that led her to success:

  1. Identify your purpose
  2. Own your choices
  3. Repurpose your fears
  4. Be a change agent

After many years of successfully running her business and becoming a leader in aviation, René decided to follow her passion of helping other women find purpose and excel. René teamed up with, Lisa Copeland, a pioneer in the field of automotive sales and brand strategy, to write the book, "Crushing Mediocrity: Ten Ways to Rise Above the Status Quo".
