Hello everyone, my name is Elizabeth!

I am honored to have been working with WBCS as the Senior Director of programs. Each day I get the opportunity to organize events that allow those in our network to expand their business acumen, while building connections for future business opportunities. I am passionate about helping women achieve economic parity alongside this fabulous team here at the council.

Over the years, I have been in a part of the non-profit world, previously serving an arts education organization, a teacher development organization, a youth services organization, and lastly a federally qualified health center. Outside of working with so many phenomenal women owned businesses, I also volunteer with Literacy Achieves teaching English to non-English speaking adults.

A bit about me, the earth welcomed me into its orbit and initially stationed me in Dallas, TX! I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of North Texas. In my free time, you can find me at the Texas Star Dinner Theater in Grapevine performing in their murder mysteries, at Theatre Arlington performing in their improv and sketch Comedy Club, creating music and magic with my husband, snuggling with my two 70 pound dogs, hiking on nature trails, or on a sand volleyball court of your choosing! As a person, I seek to find humor and music in every situation. I believe in acknowledging each human and creature in my presence, releasing judgment and envy because I don’t know another’s journey, and helping ensure this beautiful planet of ours is here for the long haul. To the latter point, I’m two years into being a vegetarian, which is a station in life I never thought I’d be. I encourage you to find a way to positively impact others and the natural world. As my friend Maya Angelou once told me, “Nothing will work unless you do.”

I would personally tell every WBE member or potential member that there is a whole world of women-owned businesses and advocates in our sphere that have the answer or resource you’re looking for to help you in your entrepreneurial journey. Get plugged in as soon as possible!

Check out our upcoming opportunities and events today!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Garner
