Power Pitch MVP: Mixed Media Creations

So you received the MVP Power Pitch award! How does it feel?

To say it feels “awesome” is an understatement. The second I found out I ran over to tell our owner, Susie Carter, and nearly tripped doing so because I was so excited (coordination is not one of my strong points). There may have been some bouncing up and down involved, but unless you can get that security camera footage, then I’m going to deny it.

Seriously though, I feel very honored to be an MVP. While we were not able to hear other people’s presentations I was able to speak with several presenters outside the room and can tell you that I’m sure it was a tough competition. There were a lot of inspiring and amazing women doing the Power Pitch. I am very grateful to be a part of it.

How long did you spend preparing for your presentation?

I’m not going to lie; I wrote the presentation the evening before the event. I’ve got to give a huge shout out to Susie for trusting me with this because she heard it for the first time while I was in the room doing the presentation. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to give many speeches and presentations, and find that I do best when I’m less rehearsed and let my passion for the topic show through.

The video included in the presentation was much less rushed. Overall I believe about two weeks was spent shooting, editing and producing the video. It helps to have a rockin’ video team at MMC.

Give us a synopsis of what you pitched!

In the world of the goldfish attention span, you have only a short amount of time to make a good impression. That’s where Mixed Media Creations can help. For over a year now, MMC has been honored to design, brand and produce items for Women’s Business Council events. Now we’d like to work with you.

Mixed Media Creations is an award-winning full-service marketing and creative studio, offering a wide range of services from concept to completion. Some of our offerings include graphic and web design, web development, photography/ videography, promotional products, marketing campaigns, printing services, and large scale design. This year we were able to expand our offerings to also include public relations, social media, and we expanded the video department to include drone photography and a Google 360 camera.

MMC is also extremely involved in our community. In 2015, we decided to step it up a notch and created a division called “Made with Love by MMC.” This online store features merchandise designed and produced by our team. 50% of the purchase price (not profit, but purchase price) is then reinvested back into the community. Last year our small business of 26 donated over $75,000 of goods and services to non-profits in the North Texas Community.

It is our mission to share our passion in every project we do. And because seeing is believing, I invite you all to check out our video for more information about how MMC can help your business shine.

It’s only been about a  week, but are there any potential contracts as a result of the pitch competition?

What an exciting week it’s been! I’m happy to say that we are speaking with several businesses about all things marketing.

Any final words?
