On November 12, the Women's Business Council - Southwest hosted an open house event at the WBCS offices in Las Colinas.
Members and non-members alike gathered over drinks and light appetizers to meet the WBCS staff and see the office headquarters. WBCS President Debbie Hurst and WBCS Vice President of Operation and Strategy Shawn Wills gave 2019 organizational insights and performance, and Nominating Committee Chair Cheryl Stevens gave the announcement of the new 2020 Board of Directors.
Some highlights from 2019 included:
- 18 new Sustaining (Corporate) Members
- Creation of a new Vice President of Operations and Strategy position for Shawn Wills
- 2,143 attendees at 20 DFW events
- Establishment of 2 new WBCS events - Connections to Contracts and Trade Talks
