The Women’s Business Council – Southwest works hard to provide valuable programming to connect our women-owned businesses with opportunities to grow their businesses. We can achieve this with the support of our sponsors.

Today we are highlighting one of our Platinum Champion Circle WBE Sponsors, Anderson Asphalt and Concrete Paving.

Who is Anderson Asphalt and Concrete Paving?

Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving is a full-service paving company for commercial parking lots, sidewalks, and ADA access ramps, especially for large companies and municipalities. Founded in 2008, the firm has been certified as a woman-owned business enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest since 2009 and certified as a DBE and HUB.

President and Founder of Anderson Asphalt and Concrete Paving, Pam Thompson has been in the paving industry since 1992 and runs the company with a hands-on approach, keeping involved in all aspects of operations, including daily scheduling, accounting oversight, and negotiating contracts. She is also very active within the Women's Business Council, attending events, sponsoring programs, and looking for opportunities to utilize other WBEs.

In 2019 Anderson Asphalt and Concrete Paving received the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) of the Year Award, and in 2020 Pam was a recipient of the Lillie Knox Investment Award. The funding was for a digital grade control system for an asphalt laydown machine, which controls the thickness of asphalt installed so the finished road has a smooth finish without bumps and dips.  Many road paving projects have very stringent smoothness requirements, and with this new grade control system, they can bid on projects for North Texas Cities, Counties, and even TxDOT.

These groups represent a vast number of projects that range from $100,000 to several million. In addition to contracting directly to cities and counties, they can subcontract to large prime contractors who need WBEs on their projects. When they land some governmental contracts, they would definitely like to partner with one or more WBEs!

Thank you to Pam Thompson and Anderson Asphalt and Concrete Paving for their support of the Women's Business Council - Southwest!
