1. What did winning the 2021 Lillie Knox Award mean for you and your business?
Winning the 2021 Lillie Knox Award meant that we could upgrade our online scheduling system to accommodate vaccination series requiring multiple shots (COVID), and interface more directly with our billing system & government entities for required reporting.
2. What did you use the Lillie Knox money for and how did it help grow your business?
We used our funds to help pay for IT development for our online appointment scheduling, which dramatically reduces billing time and frees up resources via automation since we no longer have to data enter everything after the fact.
3. What was your current involvement with WBCS?
I have been WBE certified since 2005 and have taken advantage of the executive education, attended the conference and events.
4. What is your favorite WBCS event and why?
The annual conference because you get to meet and network with so many dynamic women!
5. What is the best reason for a women-owned business to get her WBE certification?
You don’t know what you don’t know! WBE certification allows you to open the door to opportunities that you wouldn’t have known about otherwise. Additionally, their events are full of education and networking that is priceless!
6. What is one thing you wish you knew about WBE certification before you did it?
I got certified right away!
7. How has WBE certification helped your business?
Opportunity to bid on contracts and network with buyers directly without having to fight your way to their door on your own. Also fabulous training and educational opportunities!
