Global Entrepreneurship Week will be held November 13-17, 2018. The City of Austin's Global Business Expansion Department is teaming up with several organizations around the city to bring entrepreneurs panels, workshops, networking, and sessions all focused on expanding your business internationally.
Last week, almost 100 WBE and Sustaining members, community partners, and the Women's Business Council- Southwest's Board of Directors, joined together at Canyon View Event Center for Austin Insights.
The Woman's Business Council- Southwest is excited to announce the 2018 Austin Insights keynote speaker, Stephanie Breedlove. Breedlove is the co-founder of Care.com HomePay, formerly known as Breedlove & Associates.

Cherie Mathews, an Austin-based WBE and CEO of Healincomfort, has been awarded the Global Woman Inspirational Award presented by Global Woman in collaboration with the Inspirational Awards for Women. She received the award at the Global Woman Summit held New York City on July 14th.

The Austin Energy SHINES Project and Department of Energy recently received Greentech Media's 2018 Grid Edge Innovation Award for their creation of the first Virtual Power Plant and Distributed Energy in the country. The Grid Edge Awards recognize the top companies that are driving change in the electricity system.
WBE and owner of Gold Rush Vinyl, Caren Kelleher has been announced as the finalist for the On the Dot Woman's Rising Star Award. Austin Woman Magazine presents the annual Woman's Way Awards to recognize professional women who innovate and contribute to the city's development and progress.
WBE and owner of Templeton & Associates, Darlene Templeton received the 2018 Gene Barnwell Waugh Mentor Award from the Women Communicators of Austin (WCA).
To celebrate National Small Business Week, the City of Austin is offering free trainings, workshops, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs on Monday, April 30 through Friday, May 4. Sessions are held at a variety of locations and times around Austin. Attendees will learn from experts and their fellow business owners about funding, business planning, and marketing.
