Cherie Mathews, an Austin-based WBE and CEO of Healincomfort , has been awarded the Global Woman Inspirational Award presented by Global Woman in collaboration with the Inspirational Awards for Women. She received the award at the Global Woman Summit held New York City on July 14th. She was chosen because of her remarkable work with helping women who have undergone mastectomy surgery heal in comfort and dignity using her patented post-operative garment. Diverse suppliers, vendors and contractors were honored at DFW Airport’s Champions of Diversity Awards luncheon on May 14, recognizing companies who embrace and exemplify diversity and inclusion in their business relationships. Nominations were submitted internally by employees of the three procuring departments: Infrastructure and Development, Procurement & Materials Management and Concessions then reviewed by an Evaluation Committee. According to WCA, the Gene Barnwell Waugh Mentor award, "recognizes individuals who have given selflessly to others, providing advice, support, and wisdom. The selection committee looks for a person who has demonstrated a pattern of commitment as a mentor over an extended period of time, particularly to other communications professionals."
